As a decade-long Hugo resident, business owner, husband, and father, I have a stake in our local governance. I’ve been directly involved in local issues from the senate and congressional district levels to our local school board and city levels. 

 

As a leader in the private sector and as a leader in my family I’ve been successful with budgeting, long-term planning, and certainly with conflict resolution. 

 

After receiving a mechanical engineering degree from the University of Minnesota, I obtained my professional engineering license from the State of Minnesota.  Learning this complex trade and acquiring leadership and professional experience, I joined the operations management team at a nuclear power plant.  This experience absolutely honed my decision-making and problem-solving abilities. 

 

On a non-political side, I served on an advisory board capacity for five years with The Salvation Army.  This was a great opportunity to serve in a way that allowed me to see many diverse opinions and points of view as we worked together to promote this important organization.  

 

I look forward to applying many of the principles I’ve learned over the years to my role on the Hugo City Council.
